ST LOUIS HOLINESS CONVENTION 2015 - FEBRUARY 26 27

We're looking forward to meeting you one month from today in St. Louis for the St. Louis Holiness Convention, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 26 through FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 27.

We have heard from leaders in MISSOURI, ILLINOIS, INDIANA, IOWA, OHIO, ALABAMA, PENNSYLVANIA, and OKLAHOMA who are planning to come to this year's convention.

The ST. LOUIS HOLINESS CONVENTION is a unique blend of:

1. SPIRITUAL PRAYING - Like the early church we experience those times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord as we kneel together for prayer.

2. POWERFUL PREACHING - We're blessed to have some of this generation's greatest exponents of Scriptural holiness on our platform.

3. INSIGHTFUL TEACHING FORUMS and DISCUSSION - We're not afraid to talk through the great issues of our day.  Spirited conversation seasoned with Spiritual grace nourishes and encourages Spiritual growth and understanding.

4. POSITIVE NETWORKING - It's such a joy to hear what God is doing in His Church across the nation and around the world.  Friends meet at the SLHC to encourage one another in the great cause of holiness.

While the enemy has come in like a flood, we know that the Spirit of the LORD is lifting up a standard against him.  Our mandate is clear:

1.       CONFIDENCE GROUNDED IN HUMILITY.   In too many places our people have lost their confidence in the doctrine, experience, and life of Scriptural Holiness.  The constant bombardment of the world, the flesh, and the devil have taken their toll. We hear of those who are “falling away” more than of those who are falling in love with God.

THERE IS NO GOOD REASON WHY WE SHOULD NOT CONTINUE TO “CONTEND FOR THE FAITH ONCE DELIVERED TO THE SAINTS!”  We need confidence grounded in humility--not a carnal, self-justifying, know-it-all spirit.  We know that we don’t know it all.  But we can testify with the Apostle, “I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I’ve committed unto Him against that day.”

2.       CONVICTION HAMMERED ON THE ANVIL OF TRUTH.   Convictions held without reflection are uncomfortable at best and untenable at worst.  We cannot contend for that which we have not ourselves understood from the Word of God—written or impressed upon our hearts by the Spirit.  We need a revival of Spirit driven truth seekers who will without reservation take up the cross and follow the Lord.  Walking in the light is not legalism, it’s the natural impulse of every soul born of the Spirit.

3.       CHARITY THAT IS SPIRIT GIVEN AND SPIRIT DRIVEN.  When our hearts have been strangely warmed by the Holy Ghost who is given to us, then we will be the blessing God has made us to be.  For the Love of God and souls we will press forward in these last days declaring His perfect salvation and wonderful love!

ST. LOUIS HOLINESS CONVENTION VISION

It is our conviction that the message of Scriptural Holiness, once the dominant theology of the United States of America, has lost it’s influence in our generation because:

1.        We have not met the intellectual challenge of our day.  Too often we have relied on literature that is 50 to 200 years old, rather than writing a sound apologetic in the language of our day.

2.         We have not been aggressive.  It is as though we have lost heart for the cause that we know is right.

3.         We have fallen short of our profession of perfect love by failing to demonstrate that love in our churches, our homes, and our lives.

4.        Our spiritual fervency has waned and our influence has diminished proportionately. Ultimately our cause is a spiritual cause.  We can only prevail as we are channels through which the Holy Spirit of God can flow.

It is our prayer that the ST LOUIS HOLINESS CONVENTION will be one means, blessed by the Lord to revive the message and cause of Scriptural Holiness in the 21st Century.

John Wesley said, "Give me one hundred men who love only God with all their heart and hate only sin with all their heart, and we will shake the gates of hell and bring in the kingdom of God in one generation."  We are praying that 100 Christian Leaders will meet in St. Louis, to “shake the gates of hell, and bring in the kingdom of God.
